1st Logo (1987-1989)


Visuals: There is a night sky and moving water below. A violet pyramid then rises from the water, and then a star flies from the top-right hand corner of the screen and hits the top of the pyramid, making it flash, and the white/orange/black gradient word "PYRAMID" flies from the top of the pyramid and to the top of the screen with a trail effect. The Japanese text "ピラミッド・ビデオ(株)大陸書房" ("Pyramid Video, Tairiku Shobō Co., Ltd.") appears at the bottom.

Technique: Early computer animation.

Audio: A calming tune, along with some ping sounds.

Availability: Seen on early Pyramid Video releases from the era. [Examples?]

2nd Logo (1989-1992)

Visuals: On a space background, there is a 3D cube zooming out from pieces, then a laser cuts out and form a pyramid, which turns silver to gold, and then the rainbow colored words "PYRAMID" rotates from the center of the pyramid, then the rainbow colored words "VIDEO" zooms out from just below the word. Then the Japanese text "大陸書房" (which means "Tairiku Shobō") flips in below the logo.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: A synth theme with whooshes, ending in a chime.
