Background

Retort was a brand name formed in January 1, 2012, when FremantleMedia split Talkback Thames into four companies. It was focused on scripted comedy. In 2018, due to FremantleMedia UK was renamed to simply Fremantle UK, the company was replaced by Hare and Tortoise, which would be later closed in 2022.

Visuals: There is a red box which swings a little before becoming still. The word "RETORT" is in the middle, and the FremantleMedia byline is below.

Variant: Most of the time it shares the screen with other logos.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: The end theme of the show or none.

Availability: It was seen on then-current shows which are The IT Crowd, PhoneShop, the Goodnight Sweetheart one-off special Many Happy Returns and Birds of a Feather. It also appears on Count Arthur Strong and Chewing Gum.
