Background

Brighter Pictures was a British television production company that was formed in 1992 by Gavin Hay and Remy Blumenfeld. The company later expanded to set up offices in Scotland and Mumbai. It was sold off to Endemol in 2001. It was later merged with Cheetah Television into Remarkable Television in 2009.

1st Logo (1992-2002)

Logo: On a black background, we see a light blue neon sign of a "b", together with a purple neon sign of a tubular "p" that connects with the "b". Both signs flash twice, and the text "A Brighter Pictures Production", with some credit info fading in below.

Variants:

  • Sometimes, the logo is still.
  • On later programmes, the text reads "BRIGHTER PICTURES" with a byline "part of ENDEMOL entertainment UK" fading in below.
  • On programmes produced by its Scotland division, the text "SCOTLAND" appears below the text.

FX/SFX: The sign flashing.

Music/Sounds: The end theme of the show.

Availability: Seen on early Brighter Pictures programmes, most notably Flava and Bombay Blush, most of them were hard to find and could not be seen outside of off-air recordings.

2nd Logo (2002-2009)

Logo: It's just the standard Endemol logo from the period, but with the text reading "brighter pictures" and a byline reading "an endemol company" below.

Variant: Sometimes, the logo is in-credit or can be seen shared with other logos.

FX/SFX: Same as the Endemol logo.

Music/Sounds: Same as the Endemol logo.

Availability: Ultra rare, as Brighter Pictures' programmes can be hard to find. Can be seen on many episodes from the UK version of Big Brother, as well as There's Something About Miriam, and early episodes of Pointless and Divided.
