Background

Columbia-EMI-Warner Distributors was a joint venture between Columbia Pictures, EMI Films and Warner Bros. focusing on distributing titles from all three companies in the British market. Later during 1986, The Cannon Group, Inc. would take over the venture from EMI renaming it into Columbia-Cannon-Warner Distributors, the joint-venture closed down in 1988 as a result of the formation of Columbia Tri-Star Films.

Logo (1981-1986)

Visuals: On a black or blue screen, the Abstract Torch of Columbia Pictures, the rectangular EMI logo, and the Warner Bros. Big W/Worms logo all appear/zoom in from left to right in quick succession; each one has an ownership byline for that company (Columbia's is "A Columbia Pictures Company"; EMI's is "A member of the EMI group"; and Warner's is "A Warner Communications Company"). After all three appear, the words "Columbia-EMI-Warner Distributors" fade in above, and "Presents" fades in below (both at the same time); the logo then fades out.

Technique: Camera-controlled animation.

Audio: None.
