Background

Hulu is an American subscription streaming service majority-owned by The Walt Disney Company, with Comcast's NBCUniversal holding a minority stake. Launched on October 29, 2007, it offers a library of films and television series from networks such as ABC, NBC, or FX Networks, as well as Hulu original programming.

1st logo (2007-2014)

Logo: On a white-light gray gradient background, many clips that turn green zoom out to form the Hulu logo. The text "Watch your favorites. Anytime. For free." fade in above the logo. Later the text "hulu.com" fade in below the logo.

FX/SFX: Nice animation for the time.

Music/Sounds: Same as the Hulu jingle at the time

Availability: So far, seen on its YouTube videos at the time. One example is American Dad - Physical Evidence,

2nd Logo (2011?- )

Logo: In the credits of a show or film, we see the Hulu logo in white, with an ® registered trademark symbol at the top right of the logo. Below the logo is the text "Distributed by Hulu, LLC" in whatever font the credits use.

Variants:

  • A version exists where the logo is not in-credit and is much bigger.
  • A red variant exists.
  • Sometimes, there is a full stop at the end of the distribution text.
  • Another version exists where the text says "Distributed in the United States by Hulu, LLC".

FX/SFX: None.

Music/Sounds: The end theme of the show. In some cases, it's silent.

Availability: Common. Seen at the end of many Hulu originals, though not all of them use this logo.

2nd Logo (2017)

Logo: On a black screen, a multi-coloured line is drawn. Then the line opens, revealing the Hulu logo and a background that shifts between purple and blue colors before settling on a green background.

FX/SFX: Simple CGI animation, designed by Troika Design Group.

Music/Sounds: A calm relaxing harp and a whoosh when the line opens.

Availability: Rare. Only seen after Hulu commercials.
