Electronic Arts Distribution

Background

Electronic Arts Distribution (EAD) was the third-party publishing and distribution branch of Electronic Arts. They handled partnerships with third-party companies such as Accolade, DreamWorks Interactive, MGM Interactive, Fox Interactive, Disney Interactive and Lego Interactive.

In June 2003, the division was renamed as EA Partners (EAP), and continues to partner up with other companies to this day.

Variants:

• Most of the time, the logo is still.
• Early games, like DreamWorks Interactive and MGM Interactive's games use the URL below the logo.
• Sometimes, a print version of the logo appears on a white or black background.
• Anno 1503 contains the print version of this logo just zooming in. The same logo appears on Aliens vs. Predator: Extinction.

Technique: CGI, sometimes none.

Audio: Same as the 7th Electronic Arts logo. Sometimes none.

Availability: Appears on titles released through the venture.

• It also appears on several GBA ports of EA games that were licensed to Destination Software (DSI Games).

2nd Logo (October 26, 2000)

Visuals: On a white background, there is a red circle in the shape of the letters "EAD". On the bottom, curved around the shape, is the words "ELECTRONIC ARTS DISTRIBUTION" in a black font.

Technique: A still 2D graphic.

Audio: None.

Availability: Appeared on some titles on the packaging, but its only on-screen appearance was on Swing Away Golf, a North American/European localization of the Japanese PS2 launch title Golf Paradise (ゴルフパラダイス).

Visuals: On a white background, there is the text "EA" from the EA Games and Sports logos, and below it is the wordmark from the first logo in grey.

Trivia: The logo shown is used as its corporate logo until 2020.

Variant: On The Simpsons: Road Rage, the whole logo is sky blue on a black background.

Audio: None.

Availability: Appears on The Simpsons: Road Rage.
