Background

Simis Limited was a development studio founded in 1989 and best known for its flight simulators. Eidos Interactive acquired Simis in 1995, but it was bought off in 1998 and became part of the cap brand Kuju Entertainment. Later, Simis and Glass Ghost were merged into Kuju.

1st Logo (1990-1992)

Visuals: On a black background, several green triangles are seen in the middle of the screen, arranged to read as "SiMiS". The "i"'s are also topped with dots. Bordering it is the white text "A" and "PRODUCTION".

Variant: On AV-8B Harrier Assault, the logo is tucked into the top left corner, placed on a stone plate. Below it are two lines bordering the text "SIMIS LTD".

Technique: A still computerized graphic.

Audio: None.

Availability: Seen on the company's earliest games, such as AV-8B Harrier Assault.

2nd Logo (August 27, 1997-2000)

Visuals: On a black background, a red light appears and slides across the screen, causing the text "SIMIS" to fold out one-by-one with a brief red glow. The logo then shines brightly as a spotlight scans the screen from left to right before dying down.

Variants:

  • On Terracide, the first game to use this logo, a prototype version is used. The background is filled with green smoke, the spark is green and moves slower, and when the logo finishes, it flashes and brings forth a teal box with dark blue afterimages of the text on it.
  • On the Terracide demo, a still version of the logo is used.

Technique: CGI. A still digital graphic for the still version.

Audio: A pair of synth drones that are held-out.

Availability: Seen on Terracide, Team Apache and Xenocracy.
