Background
Philos Laboratories Software Developer Ltd. was a Hungarian video game development company founded in 1996 as the successor of Morbid Visions. The company name was changed to Philos Entertainment Inc. after receiving a large sum from an investment firm in October 2000. Later in the company's history, Philos also offered motion capture services for a short time.
The company was closed in 2004, while working on Imperium Galactica III, and its employees joined Mithis Entertainment. They finished the game under the name of Nexus: Jupiter Incident.
1st Logo (March 1, 2000-June 2003)
Visuals: Around some big shadowy columns on an orange sunset, a monkey statue sitting with a crystal ball above its head is seen. The camera rotates to reveal a monument with the company logo carved on it. It reads "Philos laboratories". Above the words, the same monkey sits. The camera gets closer to the carving, while it's lighted by a sunset. The background clears to black and the logo fades a second after.
Technique: CGI.
Audio: A calming orchestral tune which gets stronger at the end.
Availability: It can be seen on Theocracy and Rebels: Prison Escape.
2nd Logo (2004)
Visuals: Essentially just the logo from before, colored red with a white outline, on a black background.
Technique: A still, digital graphic.
Audio: None.
Availability: It was only seen on the first demo version of Nexus. Later versions use the Mithis logo.
