Background

Formed by chairman Derek Meakin in 1965, Europress' rapid development was accelerated by the computer boom in the early 80's. Its software development, magazine publishing and exhibition companies achieved phenomenal growth with annual turnover well in excess of 15m and employing over 250 people.

1st Logo (1996-1999)

Visuals: On a sky background with a white floor, the text "Europress" zooms in letter by letter. It flashes after it forms.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: Whooshes with a dramatic synthesized drumbeat.

Availability: Seen on their games, such as Titanic: An Interactive Journey.


2nd Logo (1999-2004)


Visuals: On a space background, there is the text "Europress" zooming into a planet. The planet and the text spin diagonally for the music's duration, until they fade onto a white background.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: A funky pop tune.

Availability: Seen on their later games, such as Thomas and the Magic Railroad: Print Studio and Action Man: Arctic Adventure.
