Background

Tempo was a brand name initially used for the Tempo Video children's label, which went through various owners until being acquired by Anne and Ian Miles' Abbey Home Entertainment in 1990.

In 2002, with the formation of Abbey Home Media, a successor company following the administration of Just Entertainment, the Tempo brand was brought back and was used by AHM as a label for shows aimed at older children, with sub-labels including Tempo Classics and Tempo TV Classics, in addition to the long-running Tempo Pre-School label.

Starting in 2009, Abbey Home Media ceased using the "Tempo" label and began branding all their releases under the standard Abbey Home Media brand.
