Background

Argentina Sono Film Video was the home video division of Argentina Sono Film S.A.C.I., which released videos through Pentha Group.

1st Logo (Late 1980s-Early 1990s)

Visuals: Over a stock footage of moving filmstrips with spotlights on a space background, there is the Pentha Group logo, flips in (which consists of the words "PENTHA GROUP" in a serif font, with the bottom half arranged in a box, with the top words in white, and the word "S.A." is on the right side of the white rectangle, with the words "Licenciatario Exclusivo de" in a white font), and the Argentina Sono Film logo animation (which consists of the red triangles, one upside down zooming out and the yellow outlined words "SF" flipping in at the same time, and the words "ARGENTINA SONO FILM VIDEO" fades in below the logo.

Variants:

  • A different version was shown after trailers. There is a black-magenta gradient background with stars. Below it is a silhouette drawing of a mountain, the surface of a city and some searchlights. A cube, featuring a few artists on a single flat square with a blue rear on the back flies over. It stops at the middle, as we settle to at least one artist, which flashes and turns gold. It then rotates, and it exactly does the same with the other artists. The animation of the logos play normally. The music fades early in this version.
  • Another version is presumed a later version. This has the logo play normally, except the Pentha Group logo and the text underneath it are blue, and is more close to the screen, with the "SF" in a more slight dark yellow color, and the upside down triangle in yellow, also more close to the screen, with the text remaining intact.

Technique: Analog computer animation.

Audio: A triumphant fanfare, which is an excerpt of "Maple Leaf Rag".

Availability: Seen on Argentina Sono Film Video releases during this time. [Examples?]

2nd Logo (Early-Mid 1990s?)

Visuals: On a grainy sky blue background, with three yellow bars at the top, a blurry white-gray gradient rectangle, a blue-transparent gradient square at the top-right corner, an aquamarine-transparent gradient square in the middle, a transparent green-dark green vertical rectangle with a white border on the bottom, a transparent-navy blue gradient vertical rectangle from the bottom-left, with six vertical bar cutouts, two horizontal shiny yellow bars with a grainy drop shadow all together, a wavy transparent scrolling dark gray filmstrip zooms out, rotates and settles in the middle in a diagonal angle. A red gradient upside down T-like shape then scrolls upward and moves until it unfolds and settles to the left to reveal a red triangle shape, this is then followed by a curvy blue gradient outlined abstract "S" scrolling to the middle which then spins, unfolds and stands next to the triangle, then a blue gradient outlined abstract "F" zooming out and standing next to the "S", and finally a red gradient yellow bar-like shape scrolling onto the middle, which unfolds and stands to the right, all four followed by trails. Then, "ARGENTINA SONO FILM VIDEO" fades in underneath.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: The Bring 'Em Back Alive theme, high pitched.

Availability: Seen on their last releases from the era. [Examples?]
