Air Music and Media Group plc

Background

Air Music and Media Group plc was a British music entertainment company and, through Hollywood DVD Ltd and Legacy Entertainment, a home entertainment company. In 2005, Air shuttered Hollywood DVD, due to them acquiring Maximum Entertainment. They shut down Maximum and stopped releasing DVDs in 2008, after Disney purchased Jetix Europe (a lot of Maximum's output was Jetix content). They dissolved in 2020.

Logo (2002-2005)

Visuals: On a bright sunny day with clouds rolling across the sky, and an blue ocean at the bottom, the Air Music and Media Group logo zooms in and slowly rotates around. The logo consists of a grey circle with a dot matrix trail streaking to the right, and a maroon dot-matrix sphere inside of the circle, with "air" to the right in a rounded futuristic font, and "music and media group plc" below in a rounded font. When the logo faces the screen, it zooms in closer as the camera rises up a bit, and the logo shines with a lens flare. The logo then zooms back before fading out as the Hollywood DVD logo (the DVD logo in silver along with "HOLLYWOOD" above it haphazardly arranged in a bold font) zooms out in its place, and the camera sinks back to its original place.

Variant: On their DVD of The Mind Snatchers, a logo for another label, Legacy Entertainment, is seen instead. It consists of a gold bar with the black text "LEGACY" embossed on it, and "entertainment inc." below in a curled font.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: A repeating 2-note piano ditty plays out at the beginning, which gets faster and then segues into a calm seven-note piano tune. After that, a huge glissando plays when the Hollywood DVD logo appears, with a ditty playing out. A ethereal chorus plays throughout the logo.

Availability: Appears on Hollywood DVD releases, such as their The All New Popeye Hour (branded as simply Popeye) releases.
