1st Logo (July 19, 2014-July 16, 2016) | 2nd Logo (November 8, 2014-) | 3rd Logo (July 15, 2017) |
1st Logo (July 19, 2014-July 16, 2016)
Visuals: On a black background, the words Pokémon the movie XY are seen in yellow. A silhouette of Pikachu can be seen next to it.
Technique: Digital ink-and-paint animation.
Audio: May vary depending on the film or short.
Availability: Seen on Japanese prints of Diancie and the Cocoon of Destruction, Hoopa and the Clash of Ages, and Volcanion and the Mechanical Marvel.
2nd Logo (November 8, 2014-)
Visuals: On a white background, the Pokémon logo is seen. A Poké Ball appears being thrown in and tries to smash the logo, but bounces on it and ends off-screen. Pikachu then runs from the right of the screen, shouting "Pika!"
Trivia: This logo was first used as the opening of trailers for Pokémon X and Pokémon Y.
Variants:
- A shortened version with the franchise's slogan, "Gotta catch 'em all!" replacing the Pokémon logo exists on commercials and trailers for the video games and the Pokémon Trading Card Game among others.
- The "Gotta catch 'em all!" may appear in a different language, depending on what language the commercial is.
Technique: All CGI from OLM Digital.
Audio: Poké Ball sound effects, then Pikachu's dialogue (voiced by Ikue Otani).
Availability: Seen on international prints of Diancie and the Cocoon of Destruction, Hoopa and the Clash of Ages, Volcanion and the Mechanical Marvel and I Choose You!. The variant appears on current commercials and trailers.
3rd Logo (July 15, 2017)
Visuals: On a black background, the Pokémon logo is seen with "the Movie" and "I choose you!" seen below it. The "O" in "Movie" is a Poké Ball, with "20" on Pikachu.
Technique: 2D animation. Again from OLM Digital.
Audio: Unknown.
Availability: Seen on Japanese prints of Pokémon the Movie: I Choose You!.
