Background

Maverick Entertainment was a British home video distributor that mainly focused on releasing children's shows. They first released products from Sony Wonder and Sunbow Entertainment before branching off to other companies, most notably Nelvana.

The company closed down in 2007.

Logo (November 26, 2001-2006)

Visuals: Over a black background a purple rectangle with a curtain-like design is seen with a drawing of an eye on it in white. Above the eye is the white text "M A V E R I C K", spaced out to the size of the eye.

Technique: Originally a still digital graphic, but from 2002 onwards a fading transition is used.

Audio: None.

Availability: Seen on VHS and DVD releases by Maverick Entertainment from the time-period until 2006.

  • It first appeared on several DVD releases of Sony Wonder shows, namely Transformers, and the first DVD release of G.I. Joe: The Movie, among others.
    • While it appears on the packaging of the VHS releases of Sony Wonder shows, only their logo is seen.
  • It is also seen on the 2004 UK VHS release of Franklin: Franklin the Trooper, among others.
  • It is also preserved on DVD releases from Nelvana and Millimages from 2004-2006, such as The Fairly OddParents! and 64 Zoo Lane.
  • It is also seen on Muffin the Mule (the original series and the reboot) and Hairy MacLary.
