Leisure View Video

From the Audiovisual Identity Database, the motion graphics museum

Logo (1990-1991)

Visuals: On a black background, a black circle flips in twice to the top middle of the screen. The circle is an outline, with 3/4ths of a semicircle on the right of it, and a break in the left lets in three wavy lines. "LEISURE VIEW VIDEO" then fade in one by one, stacked up and stretched to fit each other's length.

Variant: When it appears at the end, its smaller and there is an address that appears below it. This remains on screen for 1 minute and 17 seconds.

Technique: The flipping. None for the closing variant.

Audio: A chime flourish that is repeated twice. There is only silence at the end of the variant, except for an announcer who says, "Thank you for purchasing this Leisure View video cassette. If you like more information, please send a stamped addressed envelope to this address, telling us the title of this cassette and where you purchased it".

Availability: Seen on VHS releases in the UK such as the 1990 UK VHS releases of X-Men: Pryde of the X-Men and RoboCop: Detroit Crimewave, and the 1991 UK VHS releases of The Fantastic Four: A Monster Among Us and The Amazing Spider-Man: Bubble Bubble Oil And Trouble, respectively.
