Background

Fremantle Home Entertainment (also known as FremantleMedia Home Entertainment) is the home video subsidiary of Fremantle, formerly known as Pearson Television Video. It was rebranded as such in 2002, normally releasing content through Prism Leisure Corporation, before branching off on their own after buying out Prism from its administrators in 2007.

1st Logo (placeholder logo) (2002)

Visuals: Just a still version early variant of the 2002 FremantleMedia logo.

Technique: A still graphic with fading transitions.

Audio: None.

Availability: This was a placeholder logo that was used on early releases from the company after the rebranding.

• Can be seen on UK VHS and DVD releases from the time-period such as Custer of the West, Danger Mouse: Project Moon and I Love Cult Kids, among others.

2nd Logo (2002-2003)

Visuals: Same as still version of the early variant of the 2002 FremantleMedia logo, but the text next to the globe is raised a bit to fit in the words "HOME ENTERTAINMENT", in a spaced-out thin font.

Variant: On DVD releases, the FremantleMedia text remains in it's normal position, while a bolder and closer "HOME ENTERTAINMENT" suffix appears below.

Technique: A still graphic with fading transitions.

Audio: None.

Availability: So far, this logo is only known to appear on the 2002 UK DVD release of The Plank and It's Your Move and the 2003 UK VHS release of The Tomorrow People: The Doomsday Men: The Complete Story, from Revelation Films.

3rd Logo (2003-2018)

Visuals: On a royal blue background, white paint bubbles out in the center, then pulls back and to the right as the paint orbits around to form a stylized atom design. The text "FREMANTLEMEDIA", in Futura font with different font weights, blurs in to the left of the atom. Afterwards, four white paint drops appear around the atom.

Variants:

• Most DVD releases feature the widescreen version of the SD logo, but squeezed to 4:3.
• On UK DVD releases that came out between 2007 and 2008, such as Count Duckula: Vampire Vacation, the URL "www.fremantlehomeentertainment.com" appears below the logo.
• Beginning in 2008, the "Enterprises" variant is used.
• Blu-ray releases and later DVD releases use the HD variant of the logo.
• On WWE DVD and Blu-ray releases, the shortened variant is used.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: First, there is a low guitar strum, segueing into a synthesized percussion-driven instrumental. It then culminates with a three-strum guitar jingle, the last note of which echoes. This was composed by Score Productions, who also did the 1978 and 1990 versions of the theme music to ABC's World News Tonight and the music for The Price is Right, Family Feud and the 1986 Lorimar-Telepictures "Crashing Comets" logo.

Availability: Seen on most FremantleMedia DVD releases from the time-period in the UK until 2018, including Sabrina, The Animated Series, and cartoons from Nelvana, among others.

• Can be spotted on Prism Leisure distributed releases aswell.
• It can also be found on WWE releases in the UK and Germany beginning in 2013.
• Although the print logo appears on the packaging, this logo does not appear on releases from Mediumrare Entertainment or Fabulous Films in the UK.

4th Logo (2018-)

Visuals: On a black background, two shots fade in and out depicting the letters "Fr" and "e" in white being written out in cursive. A third shot shows a cursive white "m" being drawn, which zooms out to reveal the words "Fremantle" being drawn out in cursive handwriting. The stem of the "t" is the last of the lettering to be drawn after the zoom out.

Technique: 2D animation by Venturethree.

Audio: A dramatic three-note orchestral string theme followed by a chorus stinger when the stem of the "t" is drawn. This was composed by Reuben Shaljean.

Availability:

• Seen on later Fremantle DVD and Blu-ray releases, including WWE releases until their contract expired with the company at the end of 2023.
• As before, this logo does not appear on any releases from Fabulous Films.
