Background

Arrakis SRL was originally formed by Roberto Sena and Walter Miranda in 1991 as Arrakis Films en Video, to release never-before-seen movies in North America to the country, such as Rumble Fish and The Outsiders. The company would shift to porn movies gradually in the late 1990s.

1st Logo (1991-1994?)

Visuals: On a dark blue background, there is a picture of a window frame with mountains in it. A picture of a moon appears in the top left, followed by the sun, which stands above the mountains. The word "arrakis" in black appears with two black lines above and below, and then "FILMS EN VIDEO" is shown below, cutting in black.

Technique: All simple Deluxe Paint animation.

Audio: An excerpt of "Typical Male" by Tina Turner.

Availability: Seen on early Arrakis film releases from the era, such as Rumble Fish and The Outsiders.

2nd Logo (1994-Late 1990s?)

Visuals: The screen zooms out to see mountains in the sand on a space background. The moon then zooms out, and then pans down. Then, the image then zooms out in a brown window frame outline on a gray marble background, as the sun rises from the mountain. As it continues, the word "arrakis" pans out letter by letter below the window, and above the line. The action then freezes.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: A generic 90s hip hop tune.

Availability: Seen on later Arrakis releases from the era. [Examples?]
