Youmex

Background

Youmex was an anime production company and record label (under their label Futureland) established in 1985 as a subsidiary of Toshiba EMI and founded by Junji Fujita (formerly of King Records). The company was absorbed back into Toshiba EMI in 1998, after taking on debt defaulted on by ArtMic.

Logo (1989?-1996)

Visuals: There are two comets drawing an ellipse for a few seconds. After, a yellow "Y", a blue "O", a red "U", a green "M", an orange "E" and a green aqua "X" jump into the circle and flip the view to the right while making the text readable as "YOUMEX". The logo brights, while turning in lime green and stays for a few seconds before fading out.

Technique: Digital animation.

Audio: Silent for the first seconds. While the letters arrive, we hear a synth clarinet note that starts a rhytym disc-jockey tune. During this, we can listen the flip of the word having an ascending glockenspiel sounder and a deep-sparkling noise. All ends with a descending string theme.

Audio Variant: It was silent on AnimeWorks releases.
