Background
MWS was a joint venture between animators Jimmy Murakami, Fred Wolf, and Charles Swenson. It began as Murakami-Wolf Productions in the 1960s, and became known as Murakami-Wolf-Swenson in 1978. The company opened a Dublin office in 1989; by then, Murakami and Swenson had left the company. The company was renamed Fred Wolf Films in 1992.
Logo (December 14, 1987-March 2, 1992)
Visuals: On a white-to-black gradient background are the letters "MWS" (in a Bauhaus-like font and in a red-white gradient color, going from top to bottom) and the word "inc" (the same font except in lowercase; approximately 1/3 the size of "MWS") next to it. Underneath the logo, in smaller white letters, is "Murakami · Wolf · Swenson" in Helvetica Neue Bold.
Variant: On Toxic Crusaders, the logo is seen between "A" and "PRODUCTION".
Technique: None.
Audio: The end theme.
Later Audio Variant: Starting in 1991, a comical-mystery sounding synth tune is heard, produced using an E-mu Proteus 2 Orchestral synthesizer. An extended version of this also exists, with the second-to-last note sustaining a bit longer.
Availability:
- It can be seen on every series they produced, beginning with the 1987 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series (also on the Official Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles YouTube channel) as well as James Bond Jr. and Toxic Crusaders, respectively.
- This doesn't appear on the 11 episodes of Alvin and the Chipmunks they produced; they instead end with the 1982 version of the 1981 Ruby-Spears logo (since Ruby-Spears farmed out those 11 episodes to MWS).
- The logo proper can also be seen on the 1991 special Rocking with the Chipmunks, found on the 1992 Buena Vista Home Video release of said special.
