Background

Knack is a Japanese animation studio founded by former Toei Animation and Mushi Production employees. The company is known for producing Chargeman Ken!, a science-fiction anime noted as an internet sensation for its low production values.

1st Logo (Late 1980s)


Visuals: On a black & blue gradient background, a blue filmstrip with a word "KnacK" in it and next to it zooms in whilst rotating.

Technique: Computer animation.

Audio: A 2-note synth pad.

2nd Logo (August 21, 1994-2007)


Visuals: On a rotating blue gradient starfield background, a golden word "KnacK" zooms out with a CGI trail, and a golden outlined rectangle with a golden bar zoom out whilst rotating. Three holes in the bar are shown, all resembling a TV tube, and four lights occur to reveal the logo in white having a drop shadow effect and a black & blue gradient background.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: An upbeat synth fanfare, ending with a 3-note chime.

Availability: Seen on Gurappurâ Baki and other DVDs of programs produced by Knack.
