ID (October 30, 2002-March 1, 2009)

Visuals: There is a long line of tall, thin rectangles in varying colors, which push across from the left and back. As the camera pans, historical footage starts playing inside the rectangles. The UK History logo (the word "History" with a "UK" prefix) appears on the bottom.

Trivia: These were some of the first IDs designed by BBC Broadcast, now known as Red Bee Media.

Variants:

  • In March 2004, the channel logo was moved to the center left, and became all uppercase with a "UKTV" prefix.
  • The generic umbrella ident consisted of the logo in front of three horizontal stripes in different shades of green, which gradually fade to black and back to green.
  • The closedown version had the logo in the center of the screen.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: A futuristic synth track with an announcer.
