Background

Rovio Animation is the animation division of Ferly (previously known as Kaiken Entertainment) after it was acquired from its original owner, Rovio Entertainment in March of 2017 alongside several other Rovio assets. It is led by former Rovio CEO Mikael Hed.

Logo (May 1, 2016-)

Visuals: On a black background, some red sparks start to appear briefly, until a big spark bursts out, turning into a lot of red/orange stripes that go through the lake of a forest at sunset. They eventually dive into the water before rising, forming the 2016 version of the famous "R" logo. The company name in white fades in as the "R" turns solid red, while the sparks disappear.

Variants:

  • A short version of this logo exists where it shows the last seconds of the logo.
  • Starting in 2019, the below text now reads "ENTERTAINMENT".
    • On a Polish cinema advert for The Angry Birds Movie 2, the logo is on a TV screen.
  • There is also a in-credit variant, on which it is with Bardel Entertainment and Columbia Pictures.

Technique: CGI by Picturemill. None for the in-credit variant.

Audio: The opening theme of the film, accompanied by twinkling and whooshes.

Audio Variants:

  • On the short version, a high pitched voice for the stripes is heard, with some sparkling sounds, and the rest is ambience after the stripes dive into the water (which is a "splash" sound).
  • On the in-credit version, it's the end theme of the film/show.

Availability: Seen on The Angry Birds Movie, as well as its sequel.

  • The short version is seen on Netflix and KidsClick prints of Angry Birds Toons, which has since been removed off the former service.
  • The in-credit variant appears on Angry Birds Blues, and at the end of The Angry Birds Movie.
