Background

National Geographic Television is the television production division of National Geographic.

(1993-2005)

Logo: On a time-lapse cloudy sky background, the National Geographic logo fades in, before moving to the left with a black background fading in, encompassing the entire background except for the inside of the rectangle. Then a green line draws in next to the logo as the text "NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC" and "TELEVISION" fade in above and below the green line respectively. As that happens, the sky footage fades out.

Variants:

  • The copyright text can appear sometimes.
  • A still version exists.

Technique: The cloudy background, and the fading.

Music/Sounds: The National Geographic theme, or the ending theme plays over it.

Music/Sounds Variant: On some National Geographic shows (mainly for kids), a rock guitar version of the music plays.

Availability: Ultra rare for the one with the music, and it was seen on Save the Panda, and pretty common for the one with the ending theme. The one with the ending theme is seen on La Vida Animal and some other Spanish programs.
