Background

Disney Junior is a children's television block that premiered on February 14, 2011 on Disney Channel replacing Playhouse Disney. Since March 22, 2012, said block became the current 24-hour channel replacing SOAPnet on most providers. However, SOAPnet still survived on some providers as an "automated" network until its end on January 1, 2014.

(February 14, 2011-)

Nicknames: "The Fireworks", "The Annoying Fireworks"

Logo: We see the Disney Junior logo (with the letters in the word, "Junior" with "i" in the Mickey Mouse suit and a Mickey Mouse head as the dot, bouncing in a few times and has "DiSNEY" in its corporate font above "Junior"), zooming out. After that, fireworks fly behind the logo.

Variants:

  • On some episodes of Little Einsteins (namely "The Incredible Shrinking Adventure"), you can briefly see the old international Playhouse Disney on-screen bug over this logo. This is a result of poor plastering job.
  • On one 2013 episode and some 2011 episodes of Art Attack, a copyright notice appears under the logo.
  • On some episodes of Out of the Box, you can briefly see the 2001 Playhouse Disney Channel logo. This is a result of poor plastering job.
  • A short version exists.
  • On Marvel's Spidey and His Amazing Friends, the logo is superimposed, with the animation intact, and there are no fireworks.
  • On CITV airings of various Disney Junior originals, the word "PRODUCTION" fades in at the bottom.
    • A still variant of this exists with the word "PRODUCTION" in sky blue.
  • In the UK, this logo is used as a looping sign off. The words "THE MAGIC RETURNS AT 6am" appear at the bottom.

FX/SFX: The Disney Junior logo zooming out, the letters in "Junior" bouncing, and the fireworks flying, which are CGI animation. This logo was done by We Are Royale in Los Angeles, CA. The animation was created using Cinema 4D, Photoshop and Illustrator.

Music/Sounds: A four note orchestrated tune (which is Disney Junior's signature jingle), the show's end theme, or none. Sometimes, the theme is re-arranged with the sounds of the fireworks exploding.

Music/Sounds Variants:

  • On a DisneyNOW print of Imagination Movers, a plastering error occurs where this logo has the music of the 2007 Playhouse Disney Originals logo.
  • The UK's looping sign off uses no music, and the sounds are fireworks exploding and crowds cheering and talking.
  • On Disney+'s prints of Little Einsteins, a plastering error occurs on the French audio track where this logo has the music of the 2002 Playhouse Disney Originals logo. The English track have the correct Disney Junior theme.

Availability: Common. This logo appears on new programs such as Jake and the Never Land Pirates, and Sofia The First. It also appears on new prints of shows that were on Playhouse Disney such as Handy Manny, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Little Einsteins, Stanley, Rolie Polie Olie, The Book of Pooh, JoJo's Circus, The Koala Brothers, Higglytown Heroes, Out of the Box and Special Agent Oso, plastering the Playhouse Disney Originals logo, which was originally seen on pre-2011 episodes of said shows. Weirdly enough, despite having never aired before on the Disney Junior channel, plastering the 2002 and 2007 Disney Channel Original logos, this logo can now be seen on new, HD-remastered Disney XD reruns of Lilo & Stitch: The Series. The CITV variant is extinct, and was only seen on airings of Disney Junior shows on Mini CITV, which was CITV's preschool block.

Editor's Note: A favorite of those who grew up watching Disney Junior programming at that time. However, some may be annoyed also by this logo due to its overusage and plastering of Playhouse Disney logos.
