Background

One True Media was a video editing software founded in 2005 by Mark Moore and John Love. It was owned by SpotMixer. The software was regularly used in early YouTube content, before being shut down in May 31, 2014 by Disney. Before being closed down, Disney Interactive acquired SpotMixer in 2013.

1st Logo (2006-2007)

Nicknames: "Flash of Light", "Orange Circle"

Opening Logo: On a white background, an orange circle is seen. It has the "one" and "TRUE MEDIA" capitalized, and below an orange circle the url text reads "one true media.com" and then they all fade out.

Closing Logo: On a black background, the orange circle below has no text but a glow of light spins around once and flashes, then "one TRUE MEDIA" appears. Above the logo, "Create your own video for free at onetruemedia.com." appears. And after that the glow of light moves out.

FX/SFX: Fading out for the opening logo. The text appearing and the light for the closing logo.

Music/Sounds: None or the film's theme for the opening logo, but for the closing logo, just a synthesized ding.

Availability: Rare, seen on material made with OneTrueMedia during that period.

2nd Logo (2007-May 31, 2014)

Nicknames: "Flash of Light II", "Green Circle", "The Glow"

Opening Logo: On a gray background with a spotlight, a green circle is seen. It has the white word "one" and the black words "true media". As a light moves around it, "Created at OneTrueMedia.com" appears.

Closing Logo: A longer variant of the opening logo. The circle has no text at first, but a glow of light spins around it and flashes, then "one true media" appears. Under the logo, "Create your own at OneTrueMedia.com. It's easy and free." appears.

Variants:

  • Starting in 2011, the circle is now blue and shines instead of a light moving around it.
    • The closing logo has the "one true media" text on the circle and it shining and flashing, which "one true media" appears. Under the logo, "Create your own at OneTrueMedia.com. It's easy and free." appears.

FX/SFX: The text appearing and the light.

Music/Sounds: None or the film's theme for the opening logo, but for the closing logo, a rising sound, and the same ding sound as before.

Availability: Common, seen on material made with OneTrueMedia during that period.

Legacy: It's a nostalgic logo for those who watched YouTube videos from the late 2000's.
