Background

Telewizja Polska (TVP) is the public broadcasting corporation in Poland. The history of television service in Poland dates back to the 1930s, but due to the events of World War II, regular service wasn't launched until 1952. The company probably had no logo on production until 1993.

1st Logo (1993-January 22, 1994)

Visuals: On a black background, the words "TELEWIZJA POLSKA przedstawia" in the Hobo BT font start to appear, letter by letter. At the same time, the 1992 TVP logo (two bunches of three red, green and blue bars with the letters "TVP") zooms in above it. Once the logo completes its animation, it stays still for a few seconds before fading out.

Logo variation: On Zespół adwokacki the logo sans text fades out and after that the first scene from the show's opening fade in. Starting from episode 7 of the series, the text instead reads "TELEWIZJA POLSKA S.A.". The word "przedstawia" instead appears letter by letter after the first text fades out.

Technique: Cel-animation.

Audio: On Bank nie z tej ziemi it's the last ten seconds of "Successful Balance" by Marc Harrison, from the Arcadia Cosmos music library album Economy (COSMOS 375.287). Meanwhile, Zespół adwokacki uses "Free Market Economy" by Roland Baumgartner, from the same album, which continues throughout the show's opening sequence.

Availability: The only confirmed appearance of the logo is on the beginning of every Bank nie z tej ziemi and Zespół adwokacki episode.

2nd Logo (1999-March 6, 2003)

Visuals: A white object quickly zooms away from the screen, revealing a misty blue background. The white object then splits into the letters "TVP", all in a custom white font and with the "T" having a longer line than usual. They all spin in different directions while splitting even further apart. After they rest into a comfortable position, several bars zoom out to surround the logo while the text "TELEWIZJA POLSKA S.A." and two bunches of three red, green and blue bars quickly fly around the screen. The letters are colored in the same colors and they all collide together to form the 1992 TVP logo, glowing brightly before it dies down.

Variant: On television shows and a few movies, the logo plays at a faster rate and is videotaped. Also, a light on the top wipes in the Agencja Filmowa logo, which is the text "agencjAFilmowa" in a typewriter font with the middle 2 letters in a larger font. The top bar of the "F" also has the text "TVP SA" on top. The letters then zoom in towards the screen, slightly tilting backwards before stopping as the logo behind it fades out.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: A synth pad with a 9-note electric piano tune, followed by a metallic clang/splashing sound timed to the logo changing color/AF letters swinging down.

Audio Variants: A high-pitched version exists.

Availability: Appeared on several movies, like E=mc2. The abridged version appeared on The Hexer.

3rd Logo (March 7, 2003- )

Visuals: On a white background, the current TVP logo (a blue rectangle with the "TVP" part from the 1992-2003 TVP1 logo seen in white, but connected together and in a different font) is seen. Below it is "TELEWIZJA POLSKA" in the same font as the logo.

Variants:

  • Some works have the logo smaller.
  • On some shows, it's still.
  • On Koło Fortuny, it's in-credit.
  • On 2014-2018 episodes of Familiada and on Jeden z Dziesięciu, the POLSKA word is under the TELEWIZJA.
    • For Familiada, it fades from the Astro logo.
      • Since 2018, the company's name is absent and rectangle is bigger.
  • On post 2018 episodes of Postaw na Milion, it zooms toward the screen and stops.

Technique: None. 2d animation for Familiada and Postaw na Milion variants.

Audio: A short 6-note jingle.

Audio variants:

  • More commonly it's silent.
  • In-credit variant uses the ending theme of the gameshow.
  • For Postaw na Milion, the loud zoom sounds are heard, and after them the magical sounds, which sounds like from Stock.

Availability:

  • Seen on Komornik, Pogoda, Żurek and other films.
  • It's more commonly seen on polish gameshows like Familiada, Jeden z Dziesięciu, Koło Fortuny, Postaw na Milion and Tak to Leciało.
  • The in-credit variant only appears on Koło Fortuny.
  • Straingelly, it doesn't appear on Jaka To Melodia and Gra Słów: Krzyżówka gameshows.

4th ID (2006- )

Visuals: Over a blue space, multiple glowing lines form the logo, and we pan over the action, until the ready ethereal logo is in full-view. Below is the glowing white name "TELEWIZJA POLSKA".

Variant: On Mała Moskwa, the background is black and the name is in two lines.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: A majestic fanfare.

Availability: Seen on some movies released by TVP, such as Ranczo Wilkowyje.
