Background

Tig Productions is Kevin Costner's production company, named for Costner’s paternal grandmother, Tig.

Logo (November 25, 1992-2006)

Visuals: On a black background, there is a silhouette of a man jumping on a sports pole. The picture proceeds as a stroboscope animation, collecting together nine still shots of the jumping process, each one glowing purple as they appear. "Tig Productions" in the Americana font, fades in below. A twinkle then appears on the picture, and it turns blue.

Variant: Later versions of Wyatt Earp have this logo in a lighter blue.

Technique: Cel animation.

Audio: A flute piece with strings playing throughout (composed by Alan Silvestri), or the closing theme of the movie.

Availability: Can be seen at the beginning of Dances with Wolves (on some recent prints, it does not appear at all in the original version) and Wyatt Earp. Other films like The Bodyguard, The Postman, and For the Love of the Game have the logo at the end, while many other films don't have it.
