Background

Killer Films is an American film production company founded in 1995.

1st Logo (July 16, 1999)

Visuals: A realistic etching of a rabbit laying on its belly is next to the company name in a bold font and stacked format.

Technique: A still digital graphic.

Audio: The ending theme of the film.

Availability: Only seen at the end of I'm Losing You.

2nd Logo (April 24, 2001-)

Visuals: On a black background, there is a rabbit with a target as a torso jump towards the bottom of the screen. It then jumps and pauses in mid-air. It then lands on the ground, and repeats, this time from the first landing point. When it lands for the third time, "k i l l e r" appears below the rabbit. It then jumps to the left and disappears off-screen. We then see it jump down from the right side. When it lands this time, however, the word "f i l m s" appears below. The rabbit jumps again, and then the logo fades.

Variants:

  • Most of the time, the logo is still with the rabbit on top of "f i l m s".
  • An animated short version appeared on This American Life, cut down to the last few seconds.

Technique: Cel animation.

Audio: None. The ending theme of the show for the short version.

Availability: It first appeared at the end credits of The Safety of Objects. The animated version is seen on some films such as Then She Found Me.

3rd Logo (December 7, 2018-)

Visuals: There is the rabbit from the previous logo hopping across the screen. In the center of the screen, we see:

KILLER FILMS

in white. The rabbit continues to hop across the screen. It lands on the text, and when it kicks off to hop again, the text is pushed slightly to the right. The rabbit then pauses directly to the left of the text, bobbing its tail for a bit.

Technique: 2D animation.

Audio: None.

Availability: It was first seen on Vox Lux.
