Background

Bloody Disgusting started in 2001 as a horror genre-focused website covering horror films, television, video games, comics, and music, while also distributing physical media connected to the genre. In 2011, the company entered film production, producing the V/H/S series of anthology horror films. It also partnered with AMC Networks to release genre films on DVD under the "Bloody Disgusting Selects" label. In September 2021, Bloody Disgusting was acquired by Cinedigm.

1st Logo (April 11, 2011-2022?)


Visuals: On a red background, there is a drawing of a skull at the center of the screen and black blobs move to the skull. A buzzsaw comes out of the skull, cutting it, releasing blood, and repelling the black blobs. The text "BLOODY DISGUSTING" appears below the logo, and the background changes to black.

Variant: On trailers for the company's films (either produced or distributed), the logo is shortened, starting when the buzzsaw comes out of the skull.

Technique: The animation, which is very comic-book reminiscent.

Audio: A bell chime, followed by the sound of the buzzsaw. Also, a siren is heard in the background.

Availability: Can be seen on V/H/S and its sequels, and was used on the Bloody Disgusting YouTube channel until 2017. It may also appear on the "Bloody Disgusting Selects" line of DVDs, as well as their other films. The logo was first seen on the DVD trailer for Rammbock: Berlin Undead.

2nd Logo (February 6, 2017-2022?)


Visuals: The screen cuts to the scene in the previous logo when the buzzsaw cuts the skull; this moment is repeated three times (zoomed in the second time, zoomed in more and mirrored horizontally the third time). The logo then cuts away to a waving test bar, which also mirrors horizontally and back. It then cuts to the text "BLOODYDISGUSTING" in red and white with the buzzsaw skull in black on a white blob left to it. The logo has a VHS effect added to it and glitches three times, then fades out.

Variant: On trailers for the company's films (either produced or distributed), only the second half of the logo is shown.

Technique: The "glitching" effects.

Audio: A TV "bug" followed by the corresponding snippet of the previous logo repeated three times, then a bleep sound and another three TV "bugs". A majestic horror theme is heard in the background.

Availability: Used on the Bloody Disgusting YouTube channel since 2017, with the first video being the first episode of This Week In Horror. It also appears on film trailers as well.

3rd Logo (August 29, 2022-)

Visuals: The screen becomes very glitchy, changing from blue to black to green as red lines glitch across the screen. It turns out that the red lines are part of the text "BLOODy DISGUSTING" in a grungy font. The text shakes and things continue to glitch for a bit until the background goes black and the text zooms out slightly as film scratches appear.

Technique: Glitchy 2D effects.

Audio: A low drone.

Availability: It debuted on Terrifier 2.
