Background

After Dark Films is an American independent film production and distribution company founded by Courtney Solomon and Allan Zeman in 2006. The compant appears to have gone dormant in 2015, with Solomon presently running Cinelou Films.

1st Logo (May 5, 2006)

Visuals: On a black background, a full moon wipes in from the right. Then, the letters "ADF" respectively appear drawing on it, followed by the rest of the company name wiping in from the right in a scrawly handwritten-like font, as the moon turns into a scratchy gold color while the text gains a shadow and shines.

Technique: Computer animation.

Audio: An ominous tune and whooshes coupled with weird-like sounds for the acronyms of the text and a deep synth note at the end.

Availability: Only seen at the end of An American Haunting.

2nd Logo (2006-2013)

Visuals: A lens flare takes up most of the screen against a moving moon background. The light reveals the company's name in a serif font (except for "FILMS"), in white and with a shadow effect.

Variant: Sometimes, the moon has a teal-dark blueish tint to it.

Technique: Computer animation.

Audio: A slow, deep whoosh.

Availability: Seen on releases from this period such as Captivity.

3rd Logo (August 30, 2013-October 16, 2015)

Visuals: Fading in, there is the surface of a moon with the sun on the top left portion of the screen. The screen then zooms out, eventually seeing the company's name in a serif font and in a 3D steel texture facing sideways, without "FILMS" this time around. The letters then slowly turn to face the screen.

Technique: CGI by Greenhaus GFX.

Audio: A dramatic string fanfare that emphasizes more on brass and drums towards the end.

Availability: Seen on newer films from the company starting with Getaway.
