Background

Chernin Entertainment is a production company founded and headed by former News Corporation president Peter Chernin. The company is owned by The North Road Company and was founded on February 24, 2009.

Logo (March 6, 2011-)

Visuals: The logo begins in blackness, then the camera pans the inside of a stylized metal "C", which is reflecting a ray of light shining on it from an angle. The camera pans away from the "C", revealed to be hanging from two chains in a large warehouse-esque space, while the camera focuses on it from an angle where it faces about 45 degrees from the audience, and is directly in front of the meeting point of two walls. The shadow of the "C" situates itself on the left wall, while the shadow of an "E" (which actually is the product of the design of the "C", which has notches in it to look like an "E" at an angle) situates itself on the right wall. The light ray is shining from the left side of the screen, but then dissipates while light gathers around the two shadows. The company name appears below the logo in 3D and set in the Eagle typeface. The camera zooms out further until the logo fades or cuts to black.

Variants:

  • On some films from the company, the company name doesn't appear below the logo.
  • On TV shows by the company, the logo is already formed, and is still. Some shows have the last few seconds of the animation.
  • On The Greatest Showman, the logo is in black and white.
  • On Red Sparrow, the logo is tinted a bit of blue.
  • On the trailer for Ford v Ferrari, the logo cross-fades from the 20th Century Fox logo.
  • On the Fear Street trilogy, the logo fades out early.
  • Sometimes, it shares the screen with other logos.

Technique: CGI by Tizu.tv.

Audio: Either the opening/closing theme of the show or movie, or silence.
