===Background===
The second incarnation of '''Viacom''' was established on December 31, 2005, after the original reincarnation was split into two companies: one which retained the original [[Viacom (1971-2006)|Viacom]] name, and another one which was the original Viacom and was reincorporated into CBS Corporation, officially ceasing to exist. On December 4, 2019, Viacom and CBS remerged into '''ViacomCBS'''. On February 16, 2022, ViacomCBS was officially renamed to '''Paramount Global''', more commonly known simply as '''Paramount''', using the [[Paramount Pictures|Paramount]] trademark since 1912.
