Background

Gemstone Studios is Sony's secondary independent film & television company and the boutique production unit of Sony Pictures Television, seeking underrepresented female-led narratives in their stories.

Nicknames: "Animated Flower", "Sony's Lower Third", "Lens Fare Bloom"

Logo: On a black background, we see the Sony logo. It doesn't fade in, but it fades out for a second, and starts building up it's signature lens fare. Then, after the lens fare and the Sony logo fades out, the words, "GEMSTONE STUDIOS" is shown in white lettering, (in the font called Avenir Next) as both words appear, separately, from left to right, acting like a lower third. The "S" and "T" are connected together like the letters in the Star Wars logo. And above the words is a customized animated flower icon, fading in after the lens fare. Along with that, is the byline that reads "A Sony Company" fading in after a few moments.

Variants: As only seen on Carter, the Sony logo comes first, along with the lens fare, and then the full animation of the flower is shown, along with the animated logo. Almost at the end of that byline, the second byline "A Sony Company" is now in uppercased letters, and letter spaced, which now reads "A S O N Y C O M P A N Y" below the logo.

FX/SFX: Only the flashing and the flower spins.

Music/Sounds: Only the Sony ding can be heard.

Availability: Common and rare. It can be seen on such shows like Carter, Absentia, and the 2021 remake of Fantasy Island.

Editor's Note: Some may be confused if it's a new replacement of Sony Pictures Television or viewers might not like it.
