1st Warning (1993-Early 2000s)

Visuals: On a navy blue background, at the top of the screen is the red-orange text "FBI WARNING", sandwiched between two lines. Below it is the warning text.

Technique: A digital graphic.

Audio: None.

Availability: Seen on most Viz Video/Pioneer Entertainment VHS and DVD releases from the era.

  • It appears on VHS releases of Pokémon: Indigo League and early volume releases of Pokémon: The Johto Journeys, until moving onto the next warning, which the DVD releases already used from the start.
  • This also appears on the 1997 VHS release of Tamagotchi: Video Adventures, despite being distributed by Bandai.

2nd Warning (Early 2000s-Early 2010s)

Visuals: Same as the 1981-2004 Warner Home Video warning screen, but the text in the white square is more modern, "FBI" and the FBI seal are incorrectly out of place near the square, "FBI" isn't in bold, and the FBI seal is colored.

Technique: A digital graphic.

Audio: None.

Availability: Seen on most Viz Media releases from the era. [Examples?]

3rd Warning (Early 2010s-)

Visuals: On a black background is the following text:

FBI WARNING

Warning: The unauthorized
reproduction or distribution of
this copyrighted work is illegal.
Criminal copyright infringement,
including infringement without
monetary gain, is investigated
by the FBI and is punishable
by up to 5 years in federal
prison and a fine of $250,000.
