Background

Elevation Pictures is a Canadian distributor founded in 2013. Debuting at the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival, they're also partnered with Quebec's Remstar Films for Elevation's product under distribution. Select titles from A24 are distributed by Elevation in Canada. Elevation has Canadian rights to the films of Black Bear Pictures, which produced The Imitation Game and Gold for The Weinstein Company (despite eOne having been the Canadian distributor for Weinstein's content) as well as the 2017 film Suburbicon, which is a Paramount title despite Paramount's major role in Canada. Elevation's home video sales are distributed by Universal. as a de-facto home video company, Elevation offers children's entertainment from DHX, Nelvana, Spin Master and others.

(2014- )

Logo: We start on a slowly turning starfield, which quickly zooms out as the shining stars begin to become blurs. Meanwhile, dim, circular flashes appear and connect via lines (think a connect-the-dots puzzle). The starfield slows down again as ''PICTURES'' forms as a white outline, and ''ELEVATION'' is created from the connecting lines, dropping down. The camera slows into place, as the background becomes white and the text becomes navy blue.

Technique: CGI animation.

Music/Sounds: An ethereal humming sound, complemented by a 12-note pinging tune that syncs up with the flashes appearing, a 'whoosh' sound as we fade to the finished product.

Availability: Can be viewed on most of the films in the Elevation library in Canada such as The Imitation Game, The Big Sick, Moonlight, De Palma, Nightcrawlers, Room (2015), Suburbicon, etc. This logo was also used as a de-facto home video logo.
