Background

EA Sports Freestyle was a banner label EA Sports launched in 2008, which focused on casual/arcade-type sports titles, a la the extreme sports line this label replaced. Only five games were released under the Freestyle banner before it was quietly retired.

Logo (September 4, 2008-February 12, 2009)

Visuals: On a blue background, the EA HD logo takes place. After that's done, "EA" moves a bit right and is rounded with a glowing circle. Everything else clears, but "SPORTS" appears below inside the circle. The EA Sports logo immediately explodes into a solid white circle with blue edges and letters, which glows and flips. It then zooms into the lower part of the screen, and the stylized text "freestyle" appears above, with each letter connected to the circle. The EA Sports byline is very small below the logo.

Variants:

On FaceBreaker, after the logo is complete, Brick (one of the boxers in the game) comes and punches the logo, shattering it.
On Wii titles by the company, the EA HD logo is cut out.
On Celebrity Sports Showdown and 3 on 3 NHL Arcade, the logo is orange, and the background is white-yellow gradient. Also, the EA HD animation is cut out, and the byline is absent.
On NASCAR Kart Racing, the logo is orange like the Celebrity Sports Showdown and 3 on 3 NHL Arcade variants, but is on a white-grey gradient background. After a few seconds, several NASCAR drivers race past the logo in their karts, causing it to spin for a bit. After that, the logo surges with orange electricity before zooming in and quickly fading to white. Like those two games, the byline is also absent.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: Several whirling sounds.

On FaceBreaker, there is Brick shouting "EA Sports!" then Ice (another boxer from the game) saying "Freestyle.", as well as Brick grunting, a glass shattering sound, and him exclaiming "Yeah!".
On NASCAR Kart Racing, there is car sounds as the racers race past the logo, a quick whirling sound when the logo spins, electric sounds when it surges, and a fast whoosh when it zooms in.

Availability: Appears on FaceBreaker for Xbox 360 and PS3, its Wii port FaceBreaker K.O. Party, Celebrity Sports Showdown for the Wii, NASCAR Kart Racing for the Wii, and 3 on 3 NHL Arcade. The latter game has since been delisted from the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live stores, but it is available as a demo on NHL 11 and NHL 12, so it may still be on there.
