Background

The Ink Tank was a New York animation and design company founded in 1978 by R.O. Blechman. The company produced many station IDs and commercials with animation, stop-motion, CGI and other special effects. In 2003, Richard O'Connor and Brian O'Connell left The Ink Tank to found Asterisk Animation and it was shut down a year later.

(December 14, 2002-January 25, 2003)

Nickname: "Inkface"

Logo: On a white background, there is an outline of a round face with a huge grin looking to the left side that has ink all over the top right side of his face covering his eye and a paintbrush tucked near his left ear all in royal blue fades in along with text that says

Produced in Association with

The Ink Tank

in the same color as the face and in the same typeface as the credits for the first half of I Spy.

FX/SFX: The fading.

Music/Sounds: The closing theme.

Availability: Only seen on early episodes of I Spy.

Editor's Note: The face can be quite creepy to some with the grin and eye, though the cheery ending theme of the show mitigates any other scares.
