First discussion

Hello there! I'm a new person that just provided some new info regarding some grammar edits, exact dates for when the Cavalcade and Science trailers debuted, and some other stuff. Solarstrike (talk) 20:37, 7 May 2020 (UTC)

Is there proof that the THX Genesis trailer is shown at Regency Theaters and Westwood Fox Theater?

I've seen this on the THX page and I'm unsure if the state is true? Is there proof? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Josh0108 (talkcontribs)

There is proof of the Ultimate Cinema existing, but I'm not sure about Regency Theaters or Westwood Fox Ifyoudarethenpizzait (talk)

A new THX Spatial Audio trailer just came out a few days ago. Should it be on the THX page?

3rd Trailer Original Version Video Found?

Yep, that's right. I think I found the video for the original version of the 3rd trailer. It has an older Dolby logo at the end of the video, but I'm currently unsure if it is real or not. BaldiBasicsFan (talk) 15:32, 3 July 2020 (UTC)

Have you got a link? Hb1290 (talk) 01:15, 4 July 2020 (UTC)
Sounds like a reconstruction to me. Solarstrike (talk) 01:30, 4 July 2020 (UTC)

Compromise for the trailer dispute

Hi! I was wondering if we could compromise I could revert the edit back to the previous one, but remove the edits for Trailer #9, as that seems to be the source of the dispute. TangoWhiskeyDelta (talk)

  • My problem is that the information for trailer #9 you keep on covering it up every time you edit, and it is considered vandalism. Your not a bad editor, don't worry, but sometimes your edit could get reverted because of vandalism. If you didn't cover up the information for that trailer, this page would not have a problem at all, even doing the same thing with the image for trailer #10. BaldiBasicsFan (talk) 05:00, 6 July 2020 (UTC)
    • @BaldiBasicsFan Why have you turned the Cavalcade description into a description for the Shrek trailer? Hb1290 (talk) 05:22, 6 July 2020 (UTC)
    • I am slightly confused by what you mean, as I don't know of any edits that were done on Trailer 9, though, if I remember correctly, a video was added on Trailer 8. Trailer 9 does seem like it has the wrong videos, but I'm not sure. TangoWhiskeyDelta (talk)
      • Looks to have been fixed. But either way, when I looked again, that appeared to have been caused by MysteriousSoundSystem’s edit. My apologies to BBF. Hb1290 (talk) 06:22, 6 July 2020 (UTC)
        • Would it be OK though for me to add the videos and other information in other than that, however? I presume that the Shrek thing might've been a mistake, though I'll have to go through the edit logs again to check.
          • That's is what I'm talking about resulting in me to revert the page over and over causing in me reverting the page over and over. The vandalism I see is in the 9th and 10th trailers. The information for the 9th trailer gone while the 10th trailer doesn't have information with the years its been used as well as the image for the trailer.BaldiBasicsFan (talk) 16:28, 6 July 2020 (UTC)
            • I do believe that all of the edits were done in good faith, and all of the edits should not be reverted. I will add everything else, save for the stuff that happened to the 9th and 10th trailers. TangoWhiskeyDelta (talk)
              • Ok, because at some point, this problem should be fixed.BaldiBasicsFan (talk) 21:11, 6 July 2020 (UTC)
                • I do believe that we should perhaps allow a mod (or someone neutral) to come in and perhaps resolve this dispute. TangoWhiskeyDelta (talk)
                  • Well, that hopefully better happen. BaldiBasicsFan (talk) 17:02, 7 July 2020 (UTC)
                    • It is, I've already got someone. TangoWhiskeyDelta (talk)
                      • Who is it? BaldiBasicsFan (talk) 21:48, 7 July 2020 (UTC)
                        • It's me. From what I've been able to gather, MysteriousSoundSystem's edit (and TangoWhiskeyDelta's reversion of the edit) seemed to wipe out Cavalcade's information (save for it's "9th Trailer" header and it's pictures/video) and got replaced with Shrek's information (with Shrek's "10th Trailer" header and pictures/video being wiped) for some odd reason. It's evident in the Contents too, where there's no 10th trailer listed. Honestly, I'd suggest reverting to the revision BEFORE MysteriousSoundSystem's edit (since that edit seems to be the cause of the problem) and add all the info added afterwards. The text "The Monster Cable" should be below the picture. Dexter's Mom (talk) 11:55, 6 June 2021 (UTC)

Investigating the Broadway premiere date

Official sources say the Broadway trailer premiered in the fall of 1983. Other sources, including From Script to DVD, claim it premiered before Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. Given how that specific site has not cited any THX-certified screenings in Los Angeles between the end of ROTJ's Avco Center run and TOD's premiere, I'm more inclined, personally, to believe the latter school of thought, though I am open to looking into whether any of the other first THX theatres did certified screenings in between, so as to be more sure.
