Neon Distribution

Background

Neon is a film distributor formed in early 2017 by Tom Quinn and Tim League, who is best known for being the founder of the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema. Among the company's best-known films are I, Tonya, Ingrid Goes West, and Parasite, the first film to win an Oscar for Best Picture to not be in English. The company currently handles BH Tilt, a joint venture with Blumhouse Productions, Super LTD, and DECAL, a home entertainment joint venture alongside Bleecker Street. Neon is currently owned by The Friedkin Group through 30West.

Nicknames: "The Neon Sign"

Logo: Inside a partially-opened boiler room, we slowly zoom into a neon sign on a cabinet or device of some sort, with a buzzing electric 'Jacob's ladder' next to it, that reads "NEON". After a few seconds, the sign turns on and flickers into a bright red color. It then powers off, with the first "N" still a bit dim before fully turning off.

Variants:

On The Killing of Two Lovers, the print logo is shown in white on a black, 4:3 background.
On Gemini, the logo is tinted blue.

FX/SFX: Nice live-action effects.

Music/Sounds: Buzzing sounds from the Jacob's ladder and from the sign itself. We also hear a "thunk" before the sign lights up. Occasionally the opening theme may be heard.

Availability: Common on all films from the company, starting with Colossal.
