KidVision started initially as a kids' label of WarnerVision Entertainment in 1993. KidVision mainly distributed kids movies and TV series, such as The Magic School Bus and the original VHS release of Gumby: The Movie. In 1997, KidVision moved under Warner Home Video, and continued to distribute videos until 2002, when it and WarnerVision were folded into WHV.
1st Logo (June 26, 1993-1994)
Visuals: Over a black background is the print version of the KidVision logo.
Variant: Some tapes have the logo on a white background.
Technique: A still graphic.
Audio: None.
Availability: Seen on The Baby-Sitters Club videos released by KidVision. It is also seen on the Shining Time Station Vol. 1: Stacy Cleans Up video.
2nd Logo (February 1, 1994-2002)
Visuals: On a gradient white-gray leather background, there is a black chalkboard. A white piece of chalk comes flying in the picture and writes out "Kid Vision". As it is done writing, the chalk draws a red rectangle around the text, and a shooting star flies across the text from left to right, coloring the text.
Technique: CGI.
Audio: The chalk pressing against the board and a twinkling sound when the comet flies by. This is sometimes accompanied by the titular Bus's beeping (found on The Magic School Bus tapes), or a male voice (Victor Caroli) saying "KidVision, a leader in children's entertainment" (found on some Kidsongs tapes).
Availability: Seen on VHS releases of The Magic School Bus, The Adventures of Mary-Kate and Ashley, Shining Time Station, and later installments of Kidsongs, as well as Gumby: The Movie and the There Goes A... series. The last video to use this logo was The Magic School Bus Holiday Special.
