1st Logo (23 March 1992)
Visuals: On a green yellow shaded wall background, there is the text fading in "A FOLIO PRODUCTION". Additional in-credit text may be seen underneath fading in alongside the logo; for instance "for CHANNEL FOUR".
Technique: Fading effects.
Audio: The ending theme of the programme or none.
Availability:
- This was seen on the company's earliest documentaries such as P-Company.
- Like many other documentaries at the time, they are tough to find due to them being hardly preserved or reran.
2nd Logo (28 May 1992-1997)
Visuals: On a gray gravel background with a curtain-like overlay over it, the transparent, beveled text "FOLIO" is seen with "A" and "Production" over and underneath it respectively. Like before, additional in-credit notices may be seen underneath the logo.
Variant: Programmes co-produced with Hart Ryan Productions has only the "FOLIO" portion of the logo inside a box with a white border.
Technique: Same as before.
Audio: The ending theme of the programme or none.
Availability:
- This can be spotted on The Black Bag: Turning To Islam, the Cutting Edge documentary "Glasshouse", Postcards from the Edge, and Fight For Hearts And Minds.
- Arranging a trip to a BFI venue is one of the only methods of finding this logo.
- Though they possess nearly all the known releases from the company, visitors are obligated to view the content in person rather than over the internet.
- It also appears at the end of Commando, which is then followed by the 1993 A Westcountry Presentation for ITV endcap.
3rd Logo (1997-2000)
Visuals: Simply consists of the golden text "folio", with the "i"'s dot being a tilted square.
Variant: On Crime Beat, the logo is shown on the top right with its notice fully reading "a folio Mentorn Group Company Production for" and the 1997 BBC logo in a stacked format.
Technique: A still, computerized graphic.
Audio: None or the ending theme of the programme.
Availability: Only known to have appeared on Crime Beat, specifically 1998 episodes such as "Shops, Robbers, and Videotape".
4th Logo (2000-2008)
Visuals: Same as the 2001 Mentorn logo but with the company name reading "folio".
Variants:
- Sometimes, the logo is set on a dark blue background.
- The logo may appear in a split-screen format.
- On McCartney vs. McCartney, the byline is removed and a copyright notice is added underneath.
Technique: 2D computer animation.
Audio: None or the ending theme of the programme.
Availability: Can be seen on the Mean Streets documentary "Shops Robbers & Videotape" and series 1-5 of Traffic Cops.
5th Logo (2 April 2008-2015)
Visuals: Same as the 2008 Mentorn Media logo, but with the text now reading "folio" in a stretched format.
Variants:
- An early version has the logo in turquoise and the hand missing.
- Programmes co-produced with Channel 5 has its logo positioned on the left side of the screen.
Technique: 2D computer animation.
Audio: The ending theme of the programme or none.
Availability: Seen on series 6-9 of Traffic Cops (series 10-13 would be handled by the company's Scottish division), the Real Crime documentary "The Hunt for Mr Swirl", which features the on-screen version of this logo, and Soho Blues.
