Background: TalonSoft was a wargame publisher based in Baltimore, created in 1995 by Jim Rose from Avalon Hill. They were acquired and merged into Take-Two in 2000, but the brand was dragged idle until it was dissolved in 2005. Matrix Games acquired rights for TalonSoft production that year.

1st Logo

(1995-1997)

Logo: There is a blue spot on a black background, where an iron eagle is drawn in landing pose. Under it, the word "TALON" appears in multicolor (red-white-blue) italics font with yellow "SOFT" below, also tilted.
FX/SFX: None.
Music/Sounds: None.
Availability: Rare. Was seen on Battleground series.

2nd Logo

(1997-2005)

Logo: An iron eagle figure is seen zooming, with a blue square flipping vertically behind it, then they join and zoom out together. The word "TALONSOFT" appears below, colored in the same colors as before, and expanding over the square's borders.
FX/SFX: The eagle moving in, but done rather cheap.
Variants:

  • The still logo exists.
  • Later version has the white name which expands to the box borders.Music/Sounds: A synth music note.
    Availability: Seen on various wargame titles published that time. Multicolored version appeared on Jagged Alliance 2. Modern variant usually comes up still on later games.
