New Logo Review

Like GBH, this logo is possibly used as a placeholder.

The animation isn't as good as the first logo and it tries to copy that logo.

Only differences are the sky background turning into black and the shield shining when it goes into the center.

The company could have done better then this.

BaldiBasicsFan (talk) 03:25, 3 September 2020 (UTC)

Where is the normal version of the placeholder logo?

I heard that the WB placeholder logo appears in Gintama: THE FINAL. Is it true and where can i find it? I heard on the page that the opening of the WB logo has a blue version of the studio lot. Has anybody ever watched Gintama: THE FINAL?

97kaylum1 (talk) 01:30, May 4, 2021 (UTC)

It's currently only in Japan as of now. Also, I bet the full logo wasn't used, and the short finished version was there instead.

DevinStudios (talk) 11:30, May 10, 2021 (UTC)

It turns out, The WB placeholder logo is still in the actual movie GINTAMA: The Final. When the Japanese Blu-ray is released, let's hope the full animation of the WB placeholder logo appears.

The Mallery theme is unused.

Now, I completely understand why we would all think that Mallery's theme is the one that will end up in use for the new logo. However, he commented this on Vimeo in response to someone asking if it would be used in future films:

"I’m sorry to say no, they went with another piece of music which I have not heard yet. For awhile though, this score was the front runner and it was a very exciting time for me! Thanks for listening"

So, they are going to use a different score instead. I'd edit the page to reflect this, but I don't know how I'd do it while also acknowledging the existence of the unused score. Variant? Trivia? Not mention at all? AlmightyKingPrawn (talk) 23:08, 8 June 2021 (UTC)

I just saw an image of the Warner Bros. prototype logo. It was from the preview of Gintama the Final. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 97kaylum1 (talkcontribs)

The Warner Bros. prototype logo in the preview of Gintama: THE FINAL

I heard that the Warner Bros. prototype logo appears in the preview of Gintama: The Final. Do you know where i can find a link to this? Maybe a YouTube video or something? Please? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 97kaylum1 (talkcontribs)

What do you think the Warner Bros. 100th Anniversary logo or variant should be like?

I'm hoping that Warner Bros. will be celebrating its 100th anniversary with a new logo or variant similarly to that of its 75th anniversary variant back in 1998. I need to come up with a brilliant idea for a new logo on its 100th anniversary in 2023.

Any ideas? Let's hope they're good.

2021 fanfare composer

Billy Mallery, the composer of the runner-up fanfare for this logo, says that the final fanfare for this logo was composed by Ludwig Göransson; however, this is uncertain. Where did Billy say this? Curious...

SovereignJNewell (talk) 04:14, 29 August 2021 (UTC)

His website. Also, we should wait until there's actual proof before we add it to the wiki. DevinStudios (talk) 05:49, 29 August 2021 (UTC)

Seriously. Watching it go back and forth on how to describe the theme is getting frustrating. We need to make up our mind. AlmightyKingPrawn (talk) 20:04, 9 September 2021 (UTC)

I agree. If this edit war continues to go on, an admin might have to lock the page. / 21:23, 9 September 2021 (UTC)
Warned the editors involved. If it continues, I'll gladly protect the page for a while. Talk · Edits 23:21, 9 September 2021 (UTC)
Good. I didn't think of that idea but it should work. / 23:33, 9 September 2021 (UTC)

Do British prints of Operation Mincemeat (2022) use a bylineless 2021 logo?

So the movie just came out on Netflix recently, where the Netflix logo is in front of the movie in US releases. As WB distributed this movie in the UK, did a bylineless logo appear in the UK prints? LMgamer36 (Visit my talk page!) 04:30, 14 May 2022 (UTC)

Seeing as it was originally supposed to be released last year, probably not. CSYC (talk) 06:19, 14 May 2022 (UTC)
Well it was released at the British Film Festival on 2021. So probably not. LMgamer36 (Visit my talk page!) 06:51, 14 May 2022 (UTC)

Channel 4 airing of WB films use the new byline

Does anyone know that new Warner Bros. Discovery byline was making their first appearance on Channel 4 airing of WB films. I surprised to see the new byline before June 16. Anyone know the footage is coming from that movie? https://www.youtube.com/watch?app=desktop&v=doBuD41Uh5E Yayan500 (talk) 02:31, 3 June 2022 (UTC)

I am questioning the authenticity of that video. It looks very real, but at the same time has a vibe similar to those fake logo edits? I've never been more unsure about whether a logo is real or not in my life. AlmightyKingPrawn (talk) 02:42, 3 June 2022 (UTC)
They just confirmed in the comments that it is real. Given that a potato capture of Channel 4 is a rather odd thing to fake I am inclined to believe that they are telling the truth. Welcome new byline! AlmightyKingPrawn (talk) 15:29, 3 June 2022 (UTC)
That's quite odd. Why is the byline in NTSC on a PAL UK channel? (Visit my talk page!) 06:36, 10 June 2022 (UTC)

Heads up.

They repainted the water tower to have the Warner Bros Discovery shield on it. As the current logo heavily features the water tower, it may be altered or replaced in the future. Personally I don't want the current logo to be wasted after only 2 years of use, being possibly the best logo they've ever had and Devastudios clearly putting a ton of work into it, so I hope they keep the animation but replace the shield on the tower and presumably also in the clouds. On a side note, holy crap does the water tower look the one from Animaniacs now.

Edit: because Google strangely doesn't pull up results despite how this should be big news, here's the Twitter post I got this from with a clear photo. https://twitter.com/AjepArts/status/1535246182808752128?t=eEz76pNOQjRWKFfs9WnD4g&s=19 A picture of it unfishinished can be found on the Animaniacs Wiki for further evidence. AlmightyKingPrawn (talk) 21:17, 10 June 2022 (UTC)

The 2021 logo with the Warner Bros. Discovery shield just makes it look like WB Games. Perhaps WB Games could have a new logo someday. (Visit my talk page!) 22:49, 10 June 2022 (UTC)

The full video of the Warner Bros. Discovery Byline is no longer available due to a copyright claim by Warner Bros. Entertainment.

The logo from Father of the Bride (2022) was removed due to the copyright claim. Anyone have a recording of the video? (Visit my talk page!) 01:35, 18 June 2022 (UTC)

No, sorry. Also worth noting is that Pepsi (the uploader of the video) had to split some of his Warner Bros. and Universal combos into separate videos due to copyright claims from those two studios, some examples with that are The Fallout and Candyman (2021). SuperMax124 (talk) 02:13, 18 June 2022 (UTC)
Or I'll just make my own recording and post it on my Youtube channel. Maybe later. (Visit my talk page!) 07:09, 18 June 2022 (UTC)

So that The Flash Super Bowl trailer is interesting

The WB variant shown in the trailer does NOT look like a variant of the AT&T shield, but the WBD shield. So... what do we do? I'm gonna put up an UpcomingNewLogo for now. AlmightyKingPrawn (talk) 00:37, 13 February 2023 (UTC)

Yeah, yeah, I recently saw it before DC Films logo (as a variant of an upcoming movie) appears. TheRealMarcel2000 (talk) 00:49, 13 February 2023 (UTC)

New Warner Bros. Pictures 2023 logo coming soon?

Hey everyone, there's a new 2023 Warner Bros. Pictures logo coming soon which the WB shield is of the Warner. Bros Discovery one?

Here is the link: https://www.designboom.com/design/warner-bros-new-logo-chermayeff-geismar-haviv-05-04-2023/

What are your thoughts about that anyway? Michael Kenchington (talk) 12:30, 31 May 2023 (UTC)

Most of us have been aware for a long time now (Lets chat!) 13:23, 31 May 2023 (UTC)
We've had "upcoming new logo" prepped for a while. Some of the trailer variants like on The Flash look like the new logo, but we aren't doing anything on the main page until it debuts. AlmightyKingPrawn (talk) 13:33, 31 May 2023 (UTC)

Possible snippet of animation of the new logo?

TAKE THIS WITH A GRAIN OF SALT, IT MAY HAVE BEEN MADE FOR THE PROMO. Skip to the end. It looks a bit too sharp to be exclusively used in a Polish TV promo. The blue and gold ribbons throughout the promo are also making me wonder if they are part of WB's branding now, PREDICTION TAKE WITH EXTRA GRAIN OF SALT maybe they form the shield. https://vimeo.com/815253380/description AlmightyKingPrawn (talk) 15:31, 16 July 2023 (UTC)

On a less important note... I think this trailer for a 100th anniversary documentary stole a bunch of captures from our wiki :P https://vimeo.com/828169998/description AlmightyKingPrawn (talk) 15:41, 16 July 2023 (UTC)
Late addition, but timestamp for the first link is 00:54. AlmightyKingPrawn (talk) 23:39, 17 August 2023 (UTC)

Infobox image change request

The logo in the infobox should be changed back to the 2019 version since the WBD shield hasn't been fully adopted yet (there's no normal onscreen or print variation of it thus far). I tried changing it back myself but it doesn't display properly for some reason. Tjdrum2000 (talk) 17:26, 27 October 2023 (UTC)

14th and 15th logo should be merged?

the latter's essentially the 15th logo but enhanced to fit the WBD branding. Should we merge the two into one section? Geodesi (talk) 22:52, 8 December 2023 (UTC)

Regarding the infobox image

Don't y'all think it'd make more sense to use the flat version? Not only is it better for legibility, it's also what WB recommends for most use-cases on their branding site. EMG/Roxie (She/They) (Let's Chat!) 23:08, 15 January 2024 (UTC)

Yeah, I agree. I prefer making it as a PNG, since SVG files suck at the moment (I think), but that's me. | (lets play football) 23:12, 15 January 2024 (UTC)
