Background

TSG Entertainment Finance LLC (Mainly known as TSG Entertainment) is a financing/production company, that funds live action movies for 20th Century Studios. It was founded after Dune Entertainment went to Warner Bros. and later rebranded as RatPac Entertainment, after the U. S. release of Parental Guidance. It's first production was A Good Day to Die Hard, but didn't have an official logo until late 2013.

(December 25, 2013- )

Nickname: "Odysseus" "The Archer"

Logo: On a black background, a gold colored man (Odysseus), picks up a bow and arrow and shoots it through 12 golden axe heads. The view pulls back to show the words " TSG ENTERTAINMENT" with entertainment below in smaller letters on the side and the logo inside a gold rectangle.

Trivia: The logo makes reference to the challenge proposed by Penelope: she went to the suitors and told them that whoever could string Odysseus's bow and shoot an arrow through 12 axe-handles would marry her. The man uses its bow and shoots the arrow through the axes, so he could marry her.

Variant:

  • On The Secret Life of Walter Mitty (the first film to use this logo), the logo looks more golden.
  • On The Greatest Showman, the logo is in black and white.

FX/SFX: The man shooting the arrow. Nice animation.

Music/Sounds: A triumphant sounding fanfare or just a sound of an arrow.

Availability: Seen on films from the company, such as The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, X-Men: Days of Future Past, and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes among others.

Editor's Note: None.
