Background

Spun Gold TV is a London-based television production company founded in 2004.

Logo (November 12, 2004-)

Visuals: On a black background, three shots of a gold, metallic web is shown shining as the camera pans over. On the third shot, the text "SPUN GOLD" in a black box fades in while a border draws around the text. The text continues to shine for the rest of the logo.

Variants:

  • Most of the time, the logo is small and boxed, appearing as an in-credit logo.
    • Sometimes, this variant is animated or still.
    • Occasionally, the screen may only consist of this logo and its copyright notice but otherwise omit the latter.
  • A split-screen version exists.
  • On Wogan Now and Then, the on-screen logo appears on the top half of the screen to make room for Maral Production and UKTV's credit notice.
  • On The Madness of Boy George and I Can't Stop Masturbating, the on-screen logo is inside a box with a white border.
  • Shows co-produced with Channel 5 and its sister network, 5Star, would have this logo appear within their logos.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: The ending theme of the programme.

Availability:

  • Can be seen on many non-scripted shows as well as documentaries produced for many networks starting with their first programme, Katie & Peter. It was later seen on Wogan Now and Then, Paul Hollywood's Pies & Puds, Royal Recipes, and some shows starring Alan Titchmarsh such as The Alan Titchmarsh Show, Grow Your Own At Home With Alan Titchmarsh, among others.
  • The normal on-screen logo was used on documentaries such as Claire Sweeney My Big Fat Diet and Jennifer Saunders: Back in the Saddle.
  • The Channel 5 logo variants were seen on Eamon & Ruth: How the Other Half Lives, Paxman on The Queen's Children, and Celebrity Murder Mystery.
