Background

Next Entertainment World (also known as NEW) is a South Korean media content production and distribution company. The film investment and distribution business was founded in 2008 by former Showbox president Kim Woo-taek. NEW has since evolved into a comprehensive entertainment company with subsidiaries venturing into other industries including music, sports, production, management, international distribution, and cinema.

1st Logo (August 10, 2011-2018)


Visuals: On a black background is a circle brighting up which reveals to be a circle with a swirled "e" on it. Then two more circles appering from the left and right one with the letter "N" on it and one with the letter "W" appering in a serif font. Then the sparks burst out turning the three circles turning them into blue, red and purple with the CGI gradient sparkles appering across the screen. Then the background changes into white with some of the sparkles in color and the three balls forms the word "NeW" with the letter "N" now pixelated and the swirled "e" is now yellow on a red circle with the word "It's" appering on the left center and the text "NEXT ENTERTAINMENT WORLD" appears underneath the three circles.

Early Variant: From 2011 to 2012, the background wipes from bottom to top instead of fading in, which covers the background.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: A majestical fanfare with a man saying "It's New".

Availability: Can be seen on films from this period such as Blind and Train to Busan.

2nd Logo (February 12, 2020- )


Visuals: It's basically the same as the previous logo except when the two circles appearing from the middle circle, the three circles started to sparkle turning them this time into blue, purple and red. When it does so the three circles explodes turning them multicolored and sparkles appering at the same time, then when the background changes into white the three circles merged just like the third logo forming the same word "NeW" albeit the same one as the third logo with the word "It's" appering on the left center and underneath the circles has the text now reading "ENTERTAINMENT, MEDIA & SPORTS" with the word "It's" fading away on the left center.

Audio: Same as the previous logo.
