Background

Magnolia Home Entertainment is the home entertainment division of Magnolia Pictures.

(January 17, 2006-)

Logo: It starts out with a DVD zooming out on a black background, revealing "Magnolia" behind it. Many light effects are used. The DVD heads toward the left side of "Magnolia" as the words "home entertainment" form underneath. The lighting effects dim, revealing the logo as the DVD turns into the Magnolia logo. Then a white lighting effect scrolls through behind "Magnolia Home Entertainment".

Variant: On early releases, the CGI is different.

FX/SFX: Computerized light effects. It's a big improvement over the movie logo.

Music/Sounds: Some whooshes and typewriting noises.

Availability: Common. This logo made its first appearance on the DVD of Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room, and has since been seen on other Magnolia DVDs and Blu-rays like Hank and Mike, What Just Happened, Two Lovers, Life Itself, Blackfish and others. Strangely, this isn't seen on the exclusive 2013 VHS of V/H/S, probably due to this logo depicting a DVD.
