When I look around at certain pages and look at the files, they're all random characters and thus is very difficult to manage, and my frustration around this is beyond comprehension. I also see some captures which, despite having its own aspect ratio, is left intact and neglected. That's the reason I have set up this RfC. I feel like organization is key to more simple and straight-forward guidance. I do realize this proposal is rather short, but I thought it was the right thing to do. I want to hear your thoughts, regardless. Thanks in advance. Doctorine Dark (talk) 18:05, 2 December 2022 (UTC)
Edit: I would suggest a file name basis like:
- File:Universidad Catolica de Chile Television (1987).png
- File:Universidad Catolica de Chile Television (1990) (2).png
- File:CBC ID (Afternoon) (1988).png
Obviously, those are just suggestions. You could also modify some parts of the name (like (Afternoon, 1988) instead of (Afternoon) (1988)).

- Support. YES. I've been annoyed by this for god knows how long. (name change coming soon) 05:40, 3 December 2022 (UTC)
- Support Most uploads as of the last few months (especially since Camenati's arrival) have been named this way, plus the source of the capture. Why this isn't the rock solid norm has remained a burning question for me. PM pinter (talk) 23:13, 3 December 2022 (UTC)

- One of the most Support that I have ever given in this wiki. Some people like me make sure to do it all the time, why can't everyone? Compooper 23:14, 4 December 2022 (UTC)

- Support Obviously a good idea to make filenames "mise en place". ∞~𝙄𝙣𝙛𝙞𝙣𝙞𝙩𝙮-𝙍𝙤𝙗𝙚𝙧𝙩𝙨~∞ (꧁𝙏𝙖𝙡𝙠 𝙋𝙖𝙜𝙚꧂) | (꧁𝘾𝙤𝙣𝙩𝙧𝙞𝙗𝙨꧂) 14:59, 6 December 2022 (UTC)

Just wanted to note that the not-caring-about-the-file -name thing goes back to when we first moved over to Miraheze. We were rushing to get as much material over as possible because we feared we’d lose the original wiki quickly after we moved. Talk · Edits 14:28, 4 December 2022 (UTC)
- Ah okay! Now I can see why. Glad you're helping to resolve the issue with us now. :) Doctorine Dark (talk) 15:12, 4 December 2022 (UTC)
