Vijaya Productions

Background

Vijaya Productions is a Tamil language film company established in 1948 by Shri B.Nagi Reddi. This company merged with Vauhini Studios to form the Vijaya Vauhini Studio, which became one of the largest film studios in Southeast Asia at that time. However, Shri B.Nagi Reddi produced Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi movies under the banner of "Vijaya Productions".

is written inside a rectangular pedestal, followed by a line and two dots below "TD". Inside the arch, there are some Hindi words, possibly the name of the company.

Trivia: The monkey on the flag is Maruti, a god in Hindu mythology.

Audio: A heroic melody with drums and some notes of a trumpet.

Availability: Seen on films released by the company during the period, like Uma Chandi Gowri Sankarula Katha, among others.

1st Logo (January 14, 1965)

Visuals: On a different cloudy environment, the same flag is seen waving inside a differently-styled arch where the arch is colored green, surrounded by a golden border, and comprises the company name "VIJAYA COMBINES PRODUCTIONS". Two golden wave-like objects are seen sitting in front of the arch.

Technique: Live-action.

Audio: A different heroic trumpet and drumroll melody similar to the previous logo.

Availability: Seen on Enga Veetu Pillai.

2nd Logo (October 23, 1965)

Visuals: The camera zooms in towards the same arch used in the previous logo in the middle against a partly cloudy environment. The arch and flag are now shown in black-and-white and the waves are now white and pointing downwards.

Audio: Same as the first logo.

Availability: Seen on Enga Veettu Penn.

Vijaya Productions (2nd era)

1st Logo (November 30, 1973-April 14, 1974, March 10, 1977-February 9, 1996)

Visuals: A modified version of the previous logo where it takes place on a blue background, where the logo now consists of the flag now in orange, the arch now in dark blue, and being surrounded by a beige outline, the Hindi text now in white, and the pedestal being fully white containing the company name in dark blue and in a more standardized font and now reads "VIJAYA PRODUCTIONS (P) LTD.", all sitting on top of an orange table.

Variant:

An early variant exists where the company name reads "VIJAYA PRODUCTIONS". The flag pole is also different.
On Yehi Hai Zindagi, the logo takes place on a different cloudy background.
On Meendum Savithri, the lower half of the logo is cut-off for "VIJAYA PICTURES" in white to fade in.

Availability: Seen on Ganga Manga and Vani Rani. The latter variant was seen on Swarag Narak, Yehi Hai Zindagi, Swayamvar, Shriman Shrimati, and Meendum Savithri.

2nd Logo (February 20, 1976)

Visuals: The logo starts with a closeup of the same flag from the previous logo against a black background. The camera zooms out to reveal more of the setting, where the flag is situated within the same arch used in the previous logo, now with the company name being reverted back to "VIJAYA PRODUCTIONS (P) LTD.", and is placed on top of various puffy clouds in a nighttime environment.
