Background

U.S. Manga Corps do Brasil (often shortened to U.S. Manga) was a short-lived programming block on Rede Manchete from 1997 that aired Portuguese-dubbed anime from the Central Park Media catalog. It is named after CPM's main anime distribution label U.S. Manga Corps.

Logo (1997)

Visuals: On a black-blue gradient background is the giant mech from the U.S. Manga Corps logo, the same "U.S. MANGA CORPS" text from the aforementioned logo, this time with "DO BRASIL" below "CORPS", zooming in to the left of the screen. The mech blasts it's gun three times, giving the text color.

Technique: 2D animation.

Audio: Background music (sometimes the block's main theme, U.S. Manga), sci-fi like "pew" sounds for the blasts, alongside an announcer saying "U.S. Manga".

Audio Trivia: U.S. Manga is a Portuguese vocal cover of the song "Explosion" from the 1986 film Project A-Ko.

Availability: It was seen on promos for the programming block.

Legacy: This block marks a fascinating period in both RedeTV and Central Park Media's history.
